West Hollywood celebrates Pride in the 'Rainbow District'

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- The City of West Hollywood will celebrate WeHo Event Weekend on Friday, May 30; Saturday, May 31; and Sunday, June 1, 2025, with a packed schedule of events and festivities in and around West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Starting on Friday, May 30 at 12 p.m., Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed in both directions from N. Doheny Drive to N. La Cienega Boulevard through Monday, June 2, at 7 a.m.

WeHo Pride Presents Friday Night at OUTLOUD will take place on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. at West Hollywood Park.

It will feature headliner Maren Morris and additional performances by Qveen Herby, Jamie Fine, and more.

WeHo Pride Street Fair, Women's Freedom Festival, and exist performances on the Rainbow and Celebration Stages on Santa Monica Boulevard will begin on Saturday at 12 p.m., with the annual Dyke March commencement at 6 p.m. directly following the conclusion of the Women's Freedom Festival at the Celebration Stage.

With June right around the corner, WeHo Pride 2025 is getting ready to host one of Southern California's biggest Pride events.

West Hollywood has turn into a city with a rich history and ties to the LGBTQ society. The city's Parade Month celebrations highlight concerts, festivals and drag shows. Almost every corner of the city is adorned with rainbow flags and colored sidewalks supporting the LGBTQ community.

The weekend festivities will be spread out over several days, with the urban area enforcing road closures, which could impact travel and traffic.

WeHo Pride 2025 officially kicked off its celebrations on May 22, honoring Harvey Milk Morning. He was an American politician and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in the U.S. He was a pioneer for LGBTQ rights and his serve helped lead to the passing of the country's first gay rights ordinance.  

When is the WeHo Pride Parade?

The WeHo Pride Pride will take place on Sunday, June 1, and will begin at noon. It will dash along Santa Monica Boulevard between Crescent Heights and San Vicente Boulevards.

The parade will movie music, floats and dancing. The event is free and open to the public.

WeHo Event is the Municipality of West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ Pride celebration.

For decades, West Hollywood has been dwelling to one of the largest annual Pride celebrations in the world, drawing hundreds of thousands of people each June.

WeHo Self-acceptance 2025 kicks-off on Harvey Milk Evening, May 22, with a special event. WeHo Pride Weekend will take place from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1 with OUTLOUD at WeHo Pride, the WeHo Pride Street Unbiased, the Women's Independence Festival and Dyke March, WeHo Celebration Parade, and much more!

This year's WeHo Pride Arts Festival will take place from Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25 with various events and programming.

Throughout the 40 days from May 22 to June 30, there will be community community events at various locations.
