The 2025 Chicago Lgbtq+ fest Parade returns to the Northalsted neighborhood on the city's North Side on Sunday, June 29. 

This year's parade officially kicked off at 11 a.m. 

The theme of the LGBTQ+ group celebration will be "United in Pride." Organizers said this year's theme is a call to move and "highlights the power of coming together, embracing our diversity, and championing love, and equality."   

Dr. Maya Verdant and Dr. Catherine Creticos will help as the 2025 Community Grand Marshals. Both are famous for serving the LGBTQ+  community by increasing accessibility and advancing health and community wellness. 

What age does the Event Parade start?

Over 150 groups will journey the 20-block way starting at 11 a.m. at the intersection near Grace Street and Broadway. 

The two-mile route ends near Diversey and Cannon Drive, at the north cease of Lincoln Park.   

The corner of Sheridan Road and Broadway will be closed for staging.

Celebrate Pride month in Chicago

Chicago knows how to celebrate LGBTQ Pride!  A majority of the Lgbtq+ fest month events accept place in the Northalsted neighborhood (commonly referred to as "Boystown"), the first official gay neighborhood in the country, but celebrations - from street festivals, concerts, and parties to the annual parade - take place all over the city.

Organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance (northalsted.com), the annual two-day pride festival takes over Chicago's Northalsted neighborhood every June. Each year, nearly 60,000 revelers flock to the historic gay neighborhood commonly referred to as "Boystown" to take part in the celebration that includes three song stages featuring accepted music headliners, more than 100 arts and crafts vendors, food from local restaurants, drag shows, DJs, dancing, and much more. ($20 suggested donation at the gate.)

As Pride Month enters its final days, the Windy City is set to culminate the month of celebrations with the Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29.

Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York Metropolis, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a prominent gay bar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The subsequent protests are credited with a shift in Gay activism in the U.S.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to be present the parade in Chicago, which kicks off from the Northalsted neighborhood. The theme of this year's parade is United in Pride.

When is the Chicago Lgbtq+ fest Parade?

The Chicago Pride March is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, 2025, starting at 11 a.m. CT.

What is the Chicago Self-acceptance Parade route?

The parade takes place on Chicago's North Side, starting at West Sheridan and Broadway.

After exiting, the parade will journey south on Broadway and Halsted, turn east on Belmont, and continue on Broadway to Diversey, where it will let out near Lincoln Park.

Chicago's Pride celebration consists of a full month of festivities and events, culminating with the Chicago Pride Parade, which traditionally takes place the last Sunday of June.

 

Chicago Pride Fest takes place along North Halsted St. in the North Side neighborhood colloquially referred to a ‘Boystown’ the weekend prior to the parade.

The 54th annual Chicago Pride Parade steps off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from the corners of Sheridan and Broadway (3900 North) on Chicago's north side.

 

The parade treks through the north side of the city, ending nearby the intersection of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park, walking through some of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods.

 

 

The annual parade, which started as a protest march in 1970 after the Stonewall Riots in New York City, has grown into the city's second-largest march of nearly 200 entries, typically attracting more than 1 million people to multiple northside neighborhoods, particularly East Lakeview.
