The work of Sears and the Williams Institute featured prominently in Perry v. Schwarzenegger, the currently pending case to overturn California’s Proposition 8. Additionally, the institute is working on the cutting edge of demographic research on HIV/AIDS, LGBT poverty and discrimination. At the event, OGALLA will also honor longtime community advocate and supporter, Stamp M. Williams.
