Nickelodeon’s ‘Loud House’ to Main attraction Married Gay Couple
Nickelodeon is about to transport down the house — the “Loud House,” that is.
The children’s TV network will display a bi-racial gay couple on the animated show “The Loud House.” The series, which centers around the experience of Lincoln Deafening and his ten sisters, will be the first Nickelodeon display in history to feature a married same-sex couple.
The couple in question, voiced by Wayne Brady and Michael McDonald, will make their debut on the July 20 episode “Overnight Success.”
Nickelodeon confirmed to Variety that the couple is Clyde McBride’s parents, Harold (Brady) and Howard (McDonald) McBride. An expert from Wednesday’s upcoming episode was posted to Twitter.

As evident in the clip, the series makes no hoopla over the appearance of the married gay couple. Instead, it focuses on the protective nature of the McBride’s after dropping off Clyde at the Deafening residence for a slumber party.

Nickelodeon aired an episode of “The Boisterous House” on July 20 featuring an interracial gay couple. This children’s cartoon is about Lincoln, a kid who is growing up with 10 sisters.
The episode, entitled “Overnight Success,” depicts Lincoln inviting his companion Clyde McBride over for a sleepover. When Clyde arrives at his friend’s house, Lincoln opens the door and sees Clyde’s two interracial fathers.
The couple was portrayed as loving and overprotective parents, who are worried about letting their son nap over at a friend’s house. The couple was shown with no signs of discrimination for their sexuality.
Many social media videos and posts have been sharing their back to Nickelodeon for representing the LGBTQ community.
“Families have a right to be represented in the media and for children to observe themselves represented. It’s important for them to be competent to say ‘hey that family is like my two daddys,’” said Guillermina (Gina) Nuñez-Mchiri, interim director of the Women and Gender Studies Program at UTEP.
Nuñez also said that the queer couple in the cartoon shows the reality of this world, and that people s

Unfortunately, children are now
I don’t remember learning what it meant to be gay. I remember Bianca Montgomery coming out to a very upset Erica on All My Children when I was 13, I remember people slinging “gay” as an insult on the playground, I remember my mother groaning “ew” at the TV like a child presented with peas when two men or two women kissed in a production. Willow and Tara were moving vending machines with the power of their love around the identical time Bianca came out, but as far as I could tell, such magic only existed on the Hellmouth.
Sometimes I wonder how my life would be different if shows like Steven Universe were on when I was little. Would I possess been able to watch myself Ruby and Sapphire becoming Garnet? Would I have recognized Pearl’s feelings for Rose as familiar? Who knows. What I do know is that, despite being a slow-changing landscape, children’s shows are starting to work diverse characters and LGBTQ+ storylines in, and it’s a wonder to behold. Because chances are, before you knew the words, before you found a legal title that fit you, you knew. So wouldn’t it have been great if instead of just knowing, you could point to something and be li
