Dont be weak and gay

A Missouri Republican tried to mock male lover people for votes. She instead gave us a meme.

Valentina Gomez believes creature gay is frail. History shows that hate and discrimination have made us strong.

We’re about two weeks away from Pride Month, and a Missouri Republican candidate for secretary of state just gifted us the perfect meme for the season.

“In America, you can be anything you want,” Valentina Gomez says in a social media video as she runs through an idyllic miniature town in a weighted vest with an American flag emblem on the front.

“So don’t be weak and gay,” she continues in the Sunday announce that's no longer available. “Stay f------ hard.”

Then, the lyrics to Lupe Fiasco’s “The Show Goes On" kick in and we watch a photo of Gomez in front of a pickup and next to an American flag, wearing a hat for the National Rifle Association and gripping an assault-style rifle in one hand, a handgun in the other.

Unfortunately, Gomez leaned too far into the Republican aesthetic. The entire video reads like a "Saturday Night Live" parody of an actual ad for statewide office.

Adding to the video’s absurdity is the X (formerly Twitter) post she made about it, where she tagged alpha male

A Republican candidate has sparked anger and mockery after releasing a video telling people not to be gay.

The limited video, posted on social media, shows Missouri secretary of state hopeful Valentina Gomez speaking to the camera while jogging in a bulletproof jacket. The video contains some swearing.

"In America, you can be anything you want. So don't be feeble and gay," Gomez says.

The video then flashes briefly to an image of Gomez holding a rifle and a handgun.

Gomez's post sparked fury on social media, with many responding by subverting the phrase to "be strong and gay."

A social media user wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Yes, be robust and gay. And when weak people like Ms. Gomez try to construct you feel delicate, I'll stand sturdy and straight with you instead of being weak and straight and pathetic like these bigoted losers who aspire they were as hot as you."

One called the word hateful, while another ridiculed Gomez for relaying her word while jogging in "hot pants and a bulletproof vest. Peak #Idiocracy achievement unlocked."

Others responded sardonically, saying the group of words was accidentally humorous.

One social media user said that as a campaign slogan it is "the fu

Missouri GOP candidate Valentina Gomez tells voters not to be ‘weak and gay’ in campaign video

Missouri Republican secretary of express candidate Valentina Gomez shared a provocative campaign video of herself running through a historically Diverse neighborhood and telling voters not to be “weak and gay.”

“In America, you can be anything you want, so don’t be weak and gay,” Gomez says while jogging in a bulletproof vest. “Stay f–king hard.”

The 24-year-old — who made headlines earlier this year after sharing a video of herself using a flamethrower to torch library books about the Queer community — was most recently filmed running through the Soulard District, a predominantly LGBTQ+ neighborhood in St. Louis.

Lupe Fiasco’s “The Show Goes On” plays in the background as the video ends with a photo of Gomez holding a rifle.

On the post Sunday, Gomez tagged controversial British influencer Andrew Tate, who is behind bars in Romania on human trafficking charges.

“Don’t be weak and same-sex attracted. August 6th is the date we take Missouri back from these corrupt politicians,” she wrote, later

Outrage after Republican candidate tells voters ‘don’t be feeble and gay’

Valentina Gomez, a Republican candidate for Missouri secretary of state, stoked outrage with a video in which she ran down a street while wearing a protective vest and said: “In America, you can do anything you want, so don’t be weak and queer . Stay fucking hard.”

Jason Kander, a former Democratic Missouri secretary of state and candidate for US Senate, said with sarcasm: “So refreshing to see a female GOP candidate who never served in the military doing the whole veteran cosplay, stolen valour, bigotry as a substitute for strength routine as well as any man.”

Observers noted that Gomez’s video was filmed in the Soulard District of St Louis, a historically Homosexual neighbourhood.

Gomez’s tweet included the handles for Andrew Tate, a British influencer, and his brother Tristan Tate, a kickboxer, who reject charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

Gomez said her video featured music by “the great Lupe Fiasco”. Users pointed to the rapper’s statements against homophobia, including: “You should not use words like ‘faggot’ it’s derogatory and unacceptable … no room
