This week, the Friends chat to Dimitri Moise (The Book of Mormon) and Brandon Gill (Holler If Ya Hear Me) about their new project: As Much As I Can, billed as a musical “extravaganza” about Black queer men living with HIV/AIDS. It’s running at Joe’s Pub Sept. 12-16 and they’re doing two shows a night! The two talk about why such a story has never been told before, and the difference between active with predominantly white artistic teams versus Black innovative teams.

Federal Judge Overturns California's Same-Sex Marriage Ban

A federal judge on Wednesday overturned a California ban on homosexual marriage, ruling that the Proposition 8 ballot initiative was unconstitutional, but a pending appeal of the landmark judgment could prevent queer weddings from resuming in the mention any time soon.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge Vaugh Walker, one of three openly lgbtq+ federal judges in the country, gave opponents of the controversial Proposition 8 ballot a major victory.
